Nurse Consultation is provided for area day cares, including screening and education for child care providers, children and their parents.
Temporary Medicaid Cards Available
A Temporary Medicaid Card can be issued to pregnant women who qualify under federal guidelines. These cards provide for outpatient care.
Well Child Care Clinics:
- Clinics are held for infants and children up to age six. Physicians conduct routine physical exams at each visit. Additional services include: height; weight; head circumference; developmental testing; immunizations, anemia, hearing & vision, urine, lead and blood pressure screenings. Referrals are made as necessary.
- Immunizations that are recommended by the Missouri Department of Health are provided at offices when a nurse is available. Please bring shot records to each visit.
IMMUNIZATION SCHEDULE
- Immunization schedules can be obtained at www.aap.org.
- Beginning July 2010
- all children in daycare settings caring for 10 or more children will be required to show evidence of age appropriate immunizations for pneumococcal disease.
- all children entering kindergarten will be rquired to show evidence of the second dose of Varicella (chickenpox)
- 8th grade students will be required to show evidence of one booster dose of Tdap, a pertussis containing tetanus booster. Td will no longer be sufficient for the school age booster. The booster must contain the pertussis component. All students beyond the 9th grade are strongly encouraged to be fully immunized against pertussis.
Screenings
HIV/SYPHILIS TESTING
- Testing is offered by contacting one of the Community Health Nurses. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of materials.
- Pregnancy tests are available upon request. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of materials.
- Cholesterol and Blood Sugar screenings are offered at the health department and various locations throughout the community. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of materials.
- Blood Pressure screenings are available routinely.
